Going Home
They say there’s a place
where dreams have all gone
They never said where
but I think I know
It’s miles through the night
just over the dawn
on the road that will take me home
I know in my bones
I’ve been here before
The ground feels the same
though the land’s been torn
I’ve a long way to go
The stars tell me so
on this road that will take me home
What a poor, impoverished world it would be that had no weeds to defy man’s narrow idea of order or to suggest new possibilities to our too-limited minds. Who can calculate the strength we receive when we see and identify with a dandelion growing from a crack in the sidewalk to bloom brightly amid adversity? It makes me feel that I should be capable of just a bit more, when I see what weeds accomplish on what little they receive.— KAY HAUGAARD
FarAway

And the journey started with a song,
a great ballad from yesterday.
The pilgrims plight,
is and endless flight,
to the land called Faraway
On the journey he saw shades of night,
and he passed through skies of gray.
But, he stayed forthright,
as he searched for light,
and the land called Faraway.
On the journey he made countless friends,
and avoided countless enemies.
And he prayed each night,
that he’d earn the right,
to the land called Faraway.
Though, he longed for glory,
his body grew old and fray.
A soul long lost,
is the dreamers cost,
in the land called Faraway.
He lay down in a green meadow,
for he knew his time was nigh.
He relived each scene,
of his minds sweet dreams,
to the land of Faraway.
And though each breath was labored,
each heartbeat found the truth.
And he saw that life,
was both joy and strife,
in the land called Faraway.
And as the darkness took him,
his hopes were bright and gay.
For he’d be one,
with the setting sun,
and the land called Faraway.
Are you ready for another designer dress duel? This time, Oscar winner Rachel Weisz (“The Constant Gardener”) does battle with the super stylish Drew Barrymore. First up, the dark-haired darling. Rachel rocked the red carpet back in December 2008 at the 18th Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards while wearing the black-and-white striped Narciso Rodriguez asymmetrical dress. She paired the fab frock with ruby-red lipstick and classic black pumps. Her hair also happened to be straightened for the soiree.
Miss Drew, on the other hand, recently strutted through the streets of NYC in a similar ensemble while on her way to a taping of “Live With Regis & Kelly.” The “Grey Gardens” star also sported bright lips, but opted for $550 Miu Miu Whipstitch slingbacks and a braided updo.
This is a tough one! I prefer Drew’s footwear and I love that she went with a daring ‘do, but I also think Rachel looked flawless. It’s nearly a draw, but I’ll go with Drew simply because she matched her lips with her shoes.
Who wore it better? Rachel or Drew?
“The Sure Thing”
“Now” is the operative word. Everything you put in
your way is just a method of putting off the hour when
you could actually be doing your dream.
You don’t need endless time and perfect conditions.
Do it now. Do it today. Do it for twenty minutes, and
watch your heart start beating. You may not be able to
stick with it that long!
At the beginning you can only handle a little of that
dream at a time. It’s strong stuff. Much as we long for it,
following our dreams takes a lot of courage.
It’s as adventurous as you ever need to get in you life.
It’s strong stuff. Much as we may long for it, following
our dreams takes a lot of courage.
“It’s as adventurous as you ever need to get in life.”
Your feelings of safety will disappear at once, although
you’ve kept job, family, and home. And your feelings of
boredom will disappear right along with them.
It’s not actually the activity that creates the intensity,
it’s the love itself.”
